Life is a beautiful ride (FMS)

Update 11 March 2015:  Colouring applied to the clouds! #thedailymarker30day nr2

I was very inspired by Freshly Made Sketch's latest layout and the bottom strip reminded me of waves, which lead to thinking of the ocean & nautical images!

Lots of paper piecing!  The clouds are just repeat stamping with the little cloud from Unity's "Mr Boy" and then fussy cut.  I used a light blue Spectrum Noir to colour the lines of the clouds. The boat & sentiment is from Unity's "Life is a beautiful ride".

Unity {be inspired}

I finally have a chance to play with Unity {be inspired} and I'm sliding in at the end!!

 I used the card sketch:

I covered the little peg with the same washi I used to divide the back panel (to hide a slightly skew placement of the DP to the white cardstock)

Life is better in flip-flops!

Update 11-Mar-2015:  I stumbled upon Kathy's 30-colouring challenge and I want to give it a go since I'm a bit colouring-averse generally!  I have some catching up to do but I'll use this as my Day 1. #thedailymarker30day  nr1

I was so inspired by Vicky's card HERE that I just had to try it with the frames!!  And I found a similar background paper in a Webster's Pages paper pack, "Family Traditions"!!! Vicky is one of my top paper craft heroes and she has inspired me so much in style & technique! She introduced me to Glossy Accents and now I'm an addict too :D

I used Beach "twigi" set from Margy at Digistamps4Joy and covered the images with Glossy Accents. Colouring with Spectrum Noirs.

PTT March 2015

It's a new month at Party Time Tuesday!  And for my post I'm sharing something personal & special - my first ever scrapbook page!
Some quick background - My Mom-in-law needed a scrapbook page to give to their church who was compiling photo pages as a keepsake for a retiring pastor so she pressed on my number! I've never done it before so it was quite an experience.

I've never before had any urge to create a scrapbook page and I have to admit I'm not quite sold on it. For someone with very limited crafting time it's too time consuming and for someone who likes to start and finish projects often in one go, it's not instantly gratifying :-P

But the important thing is that she was happy with it!!

DS4J challenge Embossing with Red

Our March challenge is up and running and it's all about EMBOSSING with MAIN COLOUR RED!

I used  my clouds dies but used it only to emboss the edges & not cut through. I shaded the white card stock then with blue which lifted out the edgings.

MAWTT challenge - SPORT
