A very Blessed Christmas

To everyone I wish a very blessed Christmas. May Christians be a testimony and a reminder of HOPE that was born in the body of Christ. That He shrug off His glorious Crown to come to earth and become man so that He may take our sins that lead to everlasting death and suffering, upon Him so that we who believe will have eternal life in glory and peace for ever and ever.

Peeka-boo Birthday Wishes

This is the second kiddies' card for a church birthday:

How cute is the little peeka-boo sheep:
I used Funny Farm (Ginak Designs) with the sentiment from All Occasion Tags (GKD). The barn, tower, field, trees and wheelbarrow were paper pieced.

Card ministry: Men's Cards - January 2012

These are the cards for the men's birthdays in January at church.

The bottom was embossed with D'Vine Swirls (Cuttlebug) and then bordered with a score line (Scor-Pal). At the top I first stamped the Birthday Wishes (From Whimsical Wishes, GinaK Designs) and then measured where to score from the back to create a top border.
The boat (Enjoy the Sunshine, GKD) was stamped with blue ink and then paper pieced.

Card ministry: Ladies' cards - January 2012

This is the CAS layout I've used for the ladies' cards at church for January 2012.
I "borrowed" this layout from Gina over at -
The left-hand side was embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and even though it's not visible here, I scored a line down the right-hand side of the embossed dots (just where the ribbon starts).
The flower stamp is from Faithful Florals and the sentiment from Fanciful Tags (all GinaK).
I used Tim Holtz "Crushed Olive" to stamp the flowers with.

Herd it's your birthday

Some of you might know by now that I just adore the Funny Farm stamp set by GinaK Designs (see "Stamps I use" menu link). I sort of CASE'd a card by Lee here (

I'm starting my card ministry at church in January and this is one of the first batch. This is for one of the little ones.

Covered books

I love covering basic school A5 hardcover books. It makes a personal gift and doesn't take a lot of effort. You can of course decorate as simple or elaborate as you want! This book is for a brother-in-law whom I've never met! We're seeing them for the first time this Christmas since they're coming to visit from Brazil. He's actually Guatamalan, married to an Argentinian (my SIL) and living in Brazil. A very South American family :)

The first time I saw this was on and it's worth watching since Gina's videos are always fantastic.
You can find her videos (part 1 and 2) here:
For those using A5 books, here are my dimensions for cutting & scoring:
Front and back DP:  8 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Spine: 8 1/4" x 2 1/8"
Score spine at 7/8" and 1 1/4"
If you want to wrap the spine further underneath the DP you can make it wider.
See Gina's videos (links on top) on how to put this together.

I also used my Scor-Pal to texturise the first panel behind my stamped panel. I scored at each 1/8 until the 1" mark, turned it 90 degrees and repeated on each side.
The stamped image is from GinaK Designs "Tree Silhouettes". The "Notas" I printed from Microsoft Powerpoint.
Ink used to stamp: Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Crushed Olive, Pine Needles

Another Scor-Pal box

I LOVE making these little boxes. They are quick and easy to make and so much fun to decorate. This box is for my youngest sister who loves everything Vintage. And for those who were curious, in front is one of the chocolate bars inside (same as my other sister got) :D
I've updated the dimensions below and in the previous Scor-Pal box post.
Here are the dimensions I used with my Scor-Pal:

The flower was made with Spellbinders Rose Creations and mounted on a circle and scalloped circle die from Spellbinders. The paper is BasicGrey.
This is a second entry for the Scor-Pal Guest Designer call.

Scor-Pal Box & Rosette

This little box (the bottom box's dimension is 4 1/4" x 6") was made to hold some handmade chocolate bars for my sister.
It had to be 1" high so I worked out the dimensions as follows:
I used my Scor-Pal and scored according to the grid.
Tami Mayberry has a nice tutorial in this blog post on how to create the rosette:
My rosette on the box was scored at 1/2" intervals.
The leaves are from Spellbinders "Leaves".
The paper is Basic Grey. One side was used for the top, the other for the sides.
The paper sizes to cover the box were:
* Top: 4 3/8" x 6 1/8"
* Long sides: 1" x 6 1/8" (cut two)
* Short sides: 1" x 4 3/8" (cut two)
I'm entering my gift box into the Scor-Pal Guest Designer challenge

Isabel's page updated

Check out to see Isabel's latest stamping. She stamps every day but I love how the colors came out with Memento Markers.

This year's Christmas wrapping

Each year I wrap all my gifts according to a theme or colour scheme. There was one year when the gift tags didn't have names but a photo of the recipient. The kids in the family LOVED that! Last year I went through a Furoshiki phase (I still love it but I don't repeat the same thing twice). Read more about Furoshiki HERE. I use Furoshiki bags every day and if you have a big enough square cloth you can literally fit the kitchen sink in there.

This year I'm going for something different. I got this gorgeous paper at Flowerspot ( and it is very romantic. Combined with it is a beautiful deep purple satin ribbon. The tags are stamped with Calendar Bits & Pieces and a flower from Faithful Florals (all from GinaK Designs). The tags are attached with purple stitched ribbon.

Bronze Medal Winner @ Shelly's

I'm very happy to have been picked as the Bronze Winner at Shelly's Images! This was for the Gift Card holder I made. Thank you very much!

Advent calendar

I saw how to make this last year in the Ideas magazing ( When my little boy discovered it a while back where I had stashed it, he pulled off all the dates and beads that I had on the lids. This morning I remembered that I still had to fix it!
I used Tami Mayberry's Calendar Bits & Pieces for the dates and The Vine for the leaves and flowers (both sets available at GinaK Designs - See "stamps I use" link)
