DS4J challenge Anything Goes

WHOOP it's your favourite challenge theme!!  Come and show us your creations, but especially those Digistamps4Joy images you have!  I used one of the very first DS4J images I ever played with, COSMOS and it remains a firm favourite of mine:

For the floral panel I created a grouping of the image and then printed it out. I used white crayon to 'colour in' where I didn't want the distress inks to go. I then used distress ink with a finger sponge to rub over the image. Give it a light wipe with a tissue to clean up the crayon and you have a quick but effective panel.

I used my butterfly dies from Joy! Craft and layered two sizes. I first die-cut the negative out of the floral panel and then nestled a die-cut of patterned paper (Webster's Pages) into the opening. I then glued the middle of the smaller size on top.

I used the layout from CAS(E) this Sketch where my very good friend, Hannelie, is Guest Designer!!

DS4J release Rainbow

Today is a very COLOURFUL release day at DS4J with my new image, Rainbow.

I used the Viva la Verve Sketch #3 for October
Polkadot paper: Webster's Pages "Family traditions"
Paper for clouds from my scrap pack.
Sentiment (stamped on rainbow):

I made two versions of the rainbow - one without sections that I used here where you can play with blending, and one with separate sections. These are available in the DS4J shop from today.

Please visit the DS4J blog to see more inspiration from my fellow DT.

MAWTT challenge Someone Special at Christmas

This week's challenge at Moving Along With The Times is to make a CHRISTMAS CARD but with a twist - it must be for SOMEONE SPECIAL and make reference to it on the front :D
I decided to keep the sentiment open-ended so I can write inside (husband / daughter / son / etc).
I used my "antique silhouette cameo" also known as "CRAFT KNIFE" (lol) to cut out the tree and popped it up from the opening with foam tape.
The image is from Meljen's Designs:
I love that font!! It's called Angelic War and I saw now that it perfectly mimics Melissa's characteristic twirls :D

DS4J challenge 102 Animals

Get out your furry or buggy stamps and join us in our ANIMALS challenge at Digistamps4Joy.
The image I used Juvenile Trio is one of my favorites!
The background paper I stamped probably over 2 years ago and didn't use it at the time. Glad I kept it with my scrap papers!! It's a leaf from Whimsical Wishes (GKD).
The layout is from one of this month's Viva La Verve sketches:
You should really check out their sketches if you haven't already :D and you get a whole month to play with the weekly sketches.

Take care everyone!

DS4J release Sunday BUN in the OVEN

It's Release Sunday and it's quit a tongue-in-cheek release for me.  On Friday I posted my "Eggcellent" image and sentiment which is available today and the other image (with 2 sentiments) can be seen on this card below:

The other sentiment says, "We have news" for an announcement card :D

The image can be used on its own as well of course for lovers of baking.

Remember that our "Anniversary" challenge is still on so you have time to join us!

Building Crane

I haven't had a chance to make a card with this image of mine that is in the DS4J shop but I just wanted to get this out there!  I left the banner blank to write an age in when it gets a recipient!

Hope everyone will have a great weekend.

World Egg Day and a new DS4J image!

This is SUCH a coincidence.  I did this image a while back and it was scheduled for release THIS SUNDAY at Digistamps4Joy. So this is a preview of the image that will be available on Sunday. But since today is WORLD EGG DAY I'm posting my card so long for a giggle!

I paper pieced the egg cup and the egg shell separately and had the top of the egg shell lifted up for texture and dimension.

DESIGN NOTE:  If you colour the whole egg the same shade it will look like a cracked egg and not yet opened up :D

The sentiment is part of the set available on Sunday (12th Oct) in the DS4J SHOP.

DS4J challenge 101 Anniversary

We had a great time celebrating Digistamp4Joy's 100th challenge and we are reading to move onto the next 100!!!  Our 101st challenge is to celebrate an

I used my image, Flower Frame to create the frame which I cut out by hand (no tricky edges :D ). The sentiment is a little one from an anniversary set from Papertrey Ink.  HEY! I just realised it was from an anniversary set! LOL

The doily was stamped with a perfectly fitting background wood grained circle stamp from Unity Stamp Co.

We would love for you to join us.
