30 Day Colouring Challenge _ Day 26!

I can't believe it's almost Day 30 of the Colouring Challenge! But here's a quick post for Day 26. It's a card for Daughter's swimming teacher:
I re-printed the image slightly larger and cut out two of the fish to pop up with foam tape. I added some drops of Glossy Accents as well to simulate water drops. Colouring with our pencil stash and smoothed with artist thinners.

MAWTT challenge In the WILD (Day 23)

We love 4x4'ing and off-roading although we don't nearly get enough chance to do so with our hectic lifestyle! So when I saw our challenge at Moving Along With The Times, "IN THE WILD", I just had to set my sights on the wild outdoors:
It's also the first time I'm inking up this very cool Itty Bitty, Having Fun, from Unity Stamp Co. I quickly coloured it with the broad nib of a light blue Spectrum Noir marker and just went around the outline as well with a tan one.
The trees in the background was done with some generational stamping using GinaK Designs. I didn't find the stamp set in the shop so sadly I'm thinking it was discontinued :(

In the Wild can be country, weather, animal or whatever this means to you!
We hope the challenge calls you to join in !

This is also Day 23 of the 30-day Colouring challenge!!

30 Day Colouring Day 22

In the home stretch!!!

Remember these that look like this are just coloured images that will be made into cards in future. I struggle to photograph them clearly because of the nearness of the phone camera to the paper I think...

So here's DAY 22!!!!  Anyone for a spot of tea?

Image;  (I did all the different stamps in this set separately for the challenge)

All occasions Sunflower

Here's a quick card I made to fit some challenges (listed below):
Flower stamp: GinaK Designs  "A Year of Flowers" - I just shaded it with a finger dauber and distress inks. The top flower was popped up with foam tape on top of a plain image (fussy cut).
Leaves die-cut: Spellbinders - Also shaded with distress inks

I made a card for the following challenges:
Addicted to CAS

Freshly Made Sketches

Sliding it in right at the end!!

This will also be my Day 21 card for the 30-day Colouring Challenge!

Take care everyone!

Viva La Verve sketch 1

Here's a card using Viva la Verve's sketch for March week 1:

I used GinaK Designs "A Year of Flowers" for the rose and the sentiment from "Whimsical Wishes"
Colouring was done with pencils & then shaded with artist thinners. It was a bit bright to match the papers so I shaded over it with Antique Linen distress ink. (This was my colouring for Day 11).
I would also like to make this my 3rd entry into the World Wide Open DT challenge:

Take care all!

DS4J new release - Tier Cake (for Day 20)

My second new image today is this cake that I drew so that it can either be a classy birthday cake or a wedding cake. It's quick to colour and easy to cut out. I did 3 layers of the bottom tier, 2 of the middle tier and paper piecing in a single layer at the top:

The sentiment and its frame is from Unity Stamp Co "Basically said"

I used Week 2's sketch from Viva la Verve:
I'm going to post this tomorrow for my Day 20 of the 30-day-colouring challenge:

Thank you for visiting!

DS4J new release - Chinese Lanterns (Colour challenge Day 19)

Hope you are all well on this Lord's Day.  It's our bi-weekly New Release Sunday at Digistamps4Joy and I have two new releases today. First up is my Chinese Lanterns:

The stamp image has the three lanterns hanging on a drawn line. I cut them out separate to do paper piecing on the tag and switched them around a bit too. I glued some twine down for the line.

The images were coloured with pencils & shaded using artist's thinners. (So here's to Day 19 of the 30 Day Colouring challenge!   #thedailymarker30day)

The background on the tag was created with some distress ink & stamping with silhouette stamps from the Unity Stamp Co's September 2013 Kit of the month.

My other image, Tier Cake, will be in a separate post.

Also please visit the DS4J blog home page for more inspiration & to follow my fellow DT's pages.

"Springtime Melodies" (Cas-usal Fridays)

I am currently on a card-making spree and I hope it doesn't end. Some things gotta give though but I hope they're not too high on the priority list. I haven't played along at Cas-ual Fridays in too-long-to-remember but so glad I made some time to join in their "Springtime Melodies" challenge:
I Googled for images of my favourite song, Summertime, and used it for my background paper. OK, I know Summertime is not Springtime but I still wanted to use my favourite song. But the happy Sunflower (Papertrey Ink and dies) and yellows should hint at sunnier skies!
For the sentiment I used the G-key and a "musical pun" if you may - the # (hashtag) is also the "Sharp" notation.

So here's to #easyliving as the temperature go up in the North, and cools down in the South (thank goodness!!)

CTS #114

Sometimes a sketch seems deceptively simple until you get started. I LOVED this sketch from Cas(e) this Sketch because it actually has so many different approaches. But when I started nothing seemed to go right! I had about 3 flops that ended up in the bin but in the end I was quite happy with the result! This was tricky to photograph because the sentiment was stamped in black Stazon on clear plastic which was adhered to the frame from the back. The frame was then popped up with foam tape so it floats above the background cardstock:
The background cardstock was heat embossed in clear with the flourish stamp (Scrappy Cat - Tender Flourishes) and shaded with Fired Brick distress ink.
A little embellishment to round it off. The rose was dabbed with Fired Brick too to match the flourish & background.
The sentiment stamp is from Papertrey Ink Spiral Bouquet

Here's the clever CTS sketch:

This also fits in with Happy Little Stamper's CAS challenge - Sponging!
Have a good one!

30 Day Colouring Challenge Day 11

Quick upload - Day 11!!!  These will be used in future projects so see if you can spot them some weeks / months from now :D

Get out and be ad-ven-tur-ous (FMS177)

Don't you just love it when you start with an image, then have the perfect paper with it and then see a perfect sketch for it too? AND the artist of the image is having a challenge that fits with the image you did already as well!  I love it when a plan comes together!
The "tree" die-cut is Spellbinders "Leaves".
background paper: Bo Bunny
The cute little guy is Mo's Adventure Guy
Digital Pencils' challenge is Anything Mo Goes with an optional "GREEN"!
I used Freshly Made Sketch's layout:
AND it's Day 10 of the Daily Colouring Challenge!!

30-day-colouring Day 9

Colouring challenge Day 9!

#thedailymarker30day (Day 1's LINK)

MAWTT Three-in-a-row

I love the versatility and challenge that bingo-grids bring to card making. For a CAS card maker it can be quite challenging and I often have to scratch my head! Thanks, Sue, for creating a great grid to play with at  Moving Along with the Times!

I used Washi tape + Image (Sentiment stamp) + Embossing
I first put the Washi tape down along the middle and then used my embossing folder (D'Vine Swirl) to first emboss above and then below the washi tape.
Sentiment stamp + Frame:

Here's Sue's grid to get the creative juices flowing:

Head over to MAWTT and play along!

30-day-colouring challenge - Day 8

I'm joining Kathy on her Day 8 of the 30-day-colouring challenge!  Here's an image from Mo Manning (Digital Pencil) that I coloured with pencils:

SSS "B" is for .... BEE-utiful!

I haven't had a chance in a very long, long time to make something specially for Simon Says Stamp. This must be one of the companies in the States that I would be willing to move there for :D Awesome range & amazing products! One can hope ...

Lucky for me their new challenge is "B" is for .... and I just recently got this set from Unity:

I added some yellow to my bees so this qualify for the 30-Day-Colouring-Challenge too!

a NO-stamp card!

I can't really remember when last (or if ever) I did a card with absolutely NO stamping on it. Maybe in the beginning when I had NO stamps!?  When I got this gorgeous paper from  at our Hobby-X I knew it would come in handy! And then I saw Cas(E) this Sketch and it was a match!

A bit of Glossy Accents & a pop of pearls
Also probably one of the quickest cards I ever made :D

I'm also entering this into:  (texture)

DS4J release Daisies

Update: #thedailymarker30day nr3

It's new release Sunday at Digistamps4Joy and I drew this image of my favourite flowers - DAISIES!
The image coloured with Spectrum Noirs.
I covered the petals & 'ribbon' with Sekura Stardust pen for some shimmer:
Background paper: Prima Marketing "Time Traveller"

Layout: Cas(e) this Sketch!

Here's a pic of myself with the owner of Digistamps4Joy, Margy, and fellow DT friend, Ursula. We met up at our country's annual Hobby-X (expo):

Hope you all have a blessed Lord's Day.
