DS4J Sunday Release - Lighthouse

<< I'll be picking the winner of my 3 year anniversary candy on 30 MAY 2014!!!>>

Having grown up not too far from the ocean (near Cape Town) I just love nautical images. We weren't "beach people" (burnt too quick, hated sand) but boats and lighthouses will always be special. So when Margy (Digistamps4Joy's fearless leader) asked for ideas for Father's Day coming up, my immediate response was LIGHTHOUSE!!!  So here it is!

Main image: DS4J Lighthouse (Blog homepage:
Background, peg and sentiment stamped with: Unity's KOM July 2013

Hope you like it as much as I do!!

Thanks Margy - you're a star.

<< I'll be picking the winner of my 3 year anniversary candy on 30 MAY 2014!!!>>

I think most people in the world with kids are currently stuck with songs from the movie Frozen in their heads. If you're not, you must be living in a cave or rock. Can I come join you?

So when I saw we had to make a card with the theme SNOW CUTE for Moving Along With The Times, I wanted to "build a snow man".  And I remembered "some people are worth melting for". Yep - we've watched the movie. A couple of times.

Snowman and snow flakes: GinaK Designs
Sentiment: My own using the fonts Connie and MeltdownMF

I used the layout from CAS(E) this Sketch #76

Things are hectic at home at the moment and should quiet down in about 2 weeks so apologies to my team mates for my late post.

DS4J Challenge #92: anything goes!

It's everyone's favourite 'theme' and Digistamps4Joy invites you to show case your creations! Just make sure you read the rules!

Everyone in South Africa who can call themselves "Afrikaners" will agree that there is a special beauty about the area called "The Karoo". We've travelled through it a couple of times taking the back roads where you end up seeing much more than if you stuck to the tar. I'll put some pics at the end of the post.

Here's my card using "Karoo Water" (of which there's little ;D )
... and if you open the little envelope:
Sentiment: Unity Stamp Co' January 2014 Kit of the Month
Envelope die-cut: Marianne Design Craftables Envelope

Coloured using Spectrum Noir markers

So head on over and share with Digistamps4Joy!

Some pics from our Karoo travels
You never know WHAT adventure lies ahead. Like helping a farmer catch an orphaned new-born lamb!
The road MUCH less travelled

This is how we roll ;D

Nothing to disturb the views

More stunning views

And more...

And these were taken on different trips in different areas of a very, very big part of South Africa ;D

MAWTT Challenge: White on White Christmas

Gosh this was tricky for me!!  And that's exactly what a challenge should be!  Moving Along With The Times' new challenge is: Dreaming of a White Christmas and you should do some White On White!!

This was also tricky to photograph and I hope it looks ok!

Background embossed trees:  D'arcy
Sentiment: Unity Stamps Co Kit of the Month: October 2013

Get out your embossing folders, powders and dies and play along!!
