DS4J Challenge #68 - Oh to be young again!

South Africa is celebrating Youth Day in June and our DS4J Challenge is to make a card/creation that shows what it means to be a teenager or young adult, or make a creation/card for a person aged 12-20. I love this DS4J Nancy Neighbour image. She seems so sweet for the "girl next door":

Vintage for a special lady

Here is a very special card made for a very special lady. Rita, if you might stumble over here before your birthday... Look Away!! LOL (I don't think she's on the Web but just in case). Rita is the very dedicated lady who keeps track of all the birthdays and anniversaries at church. So I hand the cards I make for the following month to her, she gets them inscribed by the pastor and then hands them out as the birthdays happen.  She shyly asked me a while back if I could make her a different card than the rest of the June birthdays and have it inscribed and then give it to her for her birthday as a surprise. What a pleasure.

 Light coloring with Spectrum Noir (Turquoises & some naturals) leaving the background black & white.

This adorable little die-cut envelope (with lining!) is from Marianne Designs. The lace is from a little stash I inherited from my grandmother who used to make fabric dolls when I was little.
Leaves die-cuts are from Spellbinders ("Leaves").

Soccer CAS

As some of you know, I make birthday and anniversary cards for church and I try to make personalised ones for the kids. So I find out what are their hobbies or interests and try to find an image that matches it. Most of these images I find when I Google images for "coloring + (theme)" and I found this perfect one for a soccer-loving boy who is turning 11 :D

MAWTT Challenge: EMBOSS

I am excited to be hosting my FIRST challenge at Moving Along with the Times!! Please go to MAWTT to see our fabulous sponsor (Bearly Mine) and links to my fellow DT's awesome cards!

Our challenge theme is EMBOSSING and participants can use either dry or wet (heat) embossing or both (like I did). The flower was heat embossed in black and the background frame for it dry embossed with Cuttlebug's D'Vine Swirl.

This is actually a little 4"x4" card and I made the digital DP's dimensions 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" before printing.

ATCAS: Rainbows!

I'm super chuffed (impressed / excited) with my little clouds dies I bought today. They're from Joy! Crafts by NOOR! Design. I colored some strips on plain white cardstock with my Spectrum Noir Markers before die-cutting the largest cloud.

DS4J #66: Women are Special

We will be celebrating Mother's Day on 12 May this year and for a change my Mom will actually be with us then. Mmmm, maybe we should plan something  :D.
Here's my card for the new Digistamps4Joy Challenge: WOMEN ARE SPECIAL.

I printed the lilies out twice. On the 2nd copy I colored the flowers and cut them out to pop onto the bottom ones for dimension. The bottom lilies were cut out as a unit and then glued to the white background. I shaded the doily before gluing the circle panel.
