Ombre, Hombre!

This card is for the PTI's Make It Monday:

I've never really done this before and due to some lack of different color inks, I used the "stamping off" technique, so basically stamp a second time without re-inking. It gives you the same shade in a lighter color. I used Tim Holtz: Pine Needles, Peeled Paint and Crushed Olive. I stamped the full sentiment (PTI Think Big Favorites #12) in the middle with the darkest color and then masked off the "Happy" to do the other "Birthday" sentiments.

  1. Your card really turned out very pretty, Riette!
I like the 'stamping off'~ it totally looks ombre :)

  2. Stamping off really works well to get the ombre look - love your card!

  3. Stamping off works well too! Love your card! Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog!

  4. Riette, great placement of the happy. The stamp off worked beautifully!

  5. Oh, I love this stamping technique! Awesome card!
