Unity Itty Bitty a Day #2

Closed {show & tell} group - need to request admittance:

Here's my 2nd project for Day 2 of the ITTY BITTY A DAY challenge!
I made a tag and a little paper packet / envelope for the men's birthdays at church for September.

Paper packet:
Unity Distress Argyle background stamp in white ink (but came out cream) - originally from KOTM Aug 2012
Unity Eiffel tower in brown ink - originally from KOTM Dec 2012
Sentiment from Unity HAPPY DAY itty bitty

Tag:
Same Distress Argyle background. When I black embossed the bicycles, some powder stuck to the white ink too.

Unity "Itty Bitty a Week" challenge (Facebook)

I started a bit of a challenge on the Unity {show & tell} Facebook page. I've collected a couple of their Itty Bitty stamps and I figured I'll challenge myself to make a card / tag / etc every day this week using a different one each time.  A couple of other Unity fans might join me in the fun.
Here is the card I posted for today (Monday):
I used the LEAVE THE CRAB Itty bitty's image.
Click to enlarge close-up of my 'favorite sand' - puffing embossing powder (Ranger).
Sentiment is made from two word stamps from MIX UP OF CUTENESS

Look what Angela came up with for the challenge. So cool!

My DT friend Asmah is up next for our Challenge #72 at Digistamps4Joy.

Make a fancy fold card (simple or complex) and add a handmade flower! I did a simple gatefold card with a punched layered flower:
I used "Flower Fan" and added some die-cut flourish and the flower to it.
Sentiment: GinaK Designs "Wild Flowers"
DP: Bo Bunny

Please join us at DS4J these 2 weeks and add your fancy fold entry!

Turquoise Trudy

I made cards like this before but they were SUCH a hit with the girls who got them for their birthdays at church a couple of months ago, I just had to make one for a girl turning 5 next month :D
The dress is cut out and folded over the main body which is popped up with 3D foam tape.
Inside the card there are two more dresses to color.
I used the adorable Trudy from Digital Pencil: http://www.mosdigitalpencil.com/barefoot-trudy-with-3-dresses/

And it was made also for their TURQUOISE challenge: http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/2013/07/challenge-194-color-challenge-wmo-image.html

Little flower from a flower punch.

Oh happy day!

I'm just loving my little collection of Itty Bitty stamps from Unity. Here I used Oh Happy Day. The background stamp for the image panel is Argyle Distress:

A study in pink

Those who know me know that I'm not a layers girl. Not that I don't like it - I think there are amazing art works in paper out there and I'm always in awe. But I just can't seem to get my head (or fingers) around it. So today I pulled out a tag I received from Unity with a purchase to say thank you and I covered it with some GinaK Petals & Wings paper. The rest of it just sort of flowed from there. It's definitely NOT CAS :D

Beachy Hello

I can finally post this card which I made and sent halfway across the world to my talented friend Hannelie (http://desertdiva-hannelie.blogspot.com/) in Abu Dhabi!

Used "Beach hut" from Digistamps4Joy & alphabet stamps from Chiswick.
The sand was created by smearing the bottom with embossing ink and then using a puffing embossing powder. My friend said it made it there, sand and all :D (she knows sand...)
Colored with Spectrum Noirs & banners shaded with Tim Holtz.

Polka dots wishes

Background: Unity "scalloped edges" (discontinued?)

http://www.addictedtostamps-challenge.blogspot.com.au/2013/07/challenge-53-colours.html (chocolate, pink, pale green)

Neon flowers

<Edited to add> I first colored with the Neon Twisters over the white card stock, I then stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black over the colors. I kept the stamp on the side of the paper to sort of get the height of the colors the same. But I found that with these transparent colors I could go over the ink without making much difference.  The red liquid pearls were added last and left lying down to dry. <End of edit>

I used Bostik Neon Twisters for the background. They are more like crayons than markers and love the way they smooth on.
(Click to enlarge for sharper image)
The hearts were covered with red Adironrack liquid pearls.

Material girl

The current CAS-usal Friday challenge is to use some type of fabric on your project. I immediately thought about using a negative die-cut and pulling fabric through. I have some odd pieces of fabric floating around in the house after my Mom made 16(!!!) dresses for a show for my sister.
I used the negative of a die-cut I made for a previous post and cut some fabric to glue to the back. I kept it loose so I can pull some of it out. I had to mount it with 3D foam since it's quite bulky at the back.

DS4J Challenge #71: Button it up Shapely

Our new Digistamps4Joy challenge is hosted by JACKIE!  And the challenge is to create any SHAPED card and use BUTTON(S) on it!

I used the Daylily image and first made multiple copies of it in MS Powerpoint. I basically created a DP with it. I printed it out and then streaked over it with the wide nib of some of my Spectrum Noirs. The shape is from a template I downloaded from Paper Crafts Magazine, printed on cardstock & cut out by hand.

So forget about squares & rectangles, and join us at Digistamps4Joy!

Unity Color Challenge

Here's my card for one of the current Unity challenges. I often shy away from color challenges because I just don't have the ink colors but decided to give it a go with my die-cut combined with a gorgeous Unity sentiment:

I beg forgiveness for not remembering on whose blog I saw this technique but I bought a die today that I could do it with...
You die-cut the same image from different colored card stock and catch those little bits that fall out and put them back together like a puzzle. (Maybe next time will go quicker LOL)
I couldn't match the colors up perfectly but stayed in the same ranges.
