Reverse Spotlighting

This card was created for this week's StampTV challenge BUT also for the Stamp It! Cards Week Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. Check out the Moxie link for some awesome cards where stamping is the predominant feature.

The gold butterflies on black textured cardstock was stamped using Perfect Pearls (Gold).
The colored butterflies were stamped using the Thumping technique with Memento Markers.

I first cut out the outside areas using Spellbinders Labels 8's smallest size. After this I roughly cut out each colored butterfly and placed it underneath the openings to see where I needed to trim the edges so that it wouldn't stick out of one of the other openings. The blue butterfly actually does peek out at the top right hand corner but I trimmed it closely around the wing's edge. Once I had them sized correctly I glued them in place on the inside.

After I had glued the black layer to the front of the card, I cut a circle out of both top layers with Spellbinders Petite Circles. I stamped and die-cut the sentiment and lightly shaded it with Antique Linen (Tim Holtz Distress Ink). I positioned it on the inside of the card so that it would show through the circle.
